Sacrament Preparation

Children over the age of seven and adults wishing to be baptized will prepare for sacraments through the Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) and will celebrate at the Easter Vigil after a year-long preparation. For more information, contact the parish office at 763-424-8770.

First Reconciliation/First Eucharist

Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist will be mainly in second grade, for children who have already been baptized.  Students in the weekly program will receive most of their preparation in class, with some preparation at home with parents.  Students in the monthly family program will do most of their preparation at home with parents.  In addition, there will be required family meetings and a retreat day for each sacrament as part of the preparation.  First Reconciliation will be celebrated mid-winter, and First Eucharist will be celebrated last spring.  All children preparing for the sacraments must be enrolled in either the weekly program or monthly family program. Please contact the parish office at 763-424-8770 for children older than second grade who need preparation for First Reconciliation or First Eucharist.

Teens in grades 9-12 are invited to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation.  The Confirmation program is a one year program culminating the spring.  The Confirmation curriculum used is Decision Point, a video based program with small group discussion as an integral part of the program.  Students will also engage in regular service projects.  When students enter into the preparation process, they agree to participate in a small group that will meet weekly on Sundays (6-7:30 pm), participate in a parish ministry, and attend a day long retreat. To start the preparation process, parents and teens will be expected to attend a meeting together in the fall at the beginning of the 2017 Faith Formation year. A reminder will be sent closer to the date.
