Elementary Faith Formation
Alive in Christ!
Elementary Faith Formation for children in grades 1-5
Weekly on Mondays, 6:00-7:15 p.m.
The Alive in Christ curriculum is a Christ centered, classroom based program, building knowledge of our Catholic Faith, Sacred Scripture, and Catholic Social Teaching, while helping children and families deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ. Weekly classes begin with large group prayer, and also include service projects connected to the topics learned.
Generations of Faith
Whole-Family Catechesis for Elementary & Middle School Students AND their families
Monthly on Wednesdays, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Occurring once a month, this family faith formation program offers families a unique chance to experience and learn about their faith together. These two hour sessions are based on important themes of the Catholic Faith. Families gather first for a meal, then join in large group prayer, a presentation, family time, and then divide into age-based small groups for catechesis and faith sharing. A large group closing reflection and ritual nurtures prayer and invites celebration. As an extension of the evening, families are then provided take-home packets to continue exploring the monthly theme in their homes.
The evenings will be planned and led by a team of small group leaders who have dedicated an additional night to planning.
Please Note: Parents are required to attend with their child(ren). The nursery will be open for younger children. Donations are accepted each month to help defray the cost of the meal.
Liturgy of the Word for Children
Liturgy of the Word is offered to children in grades 1-4 and is held during the 8:30 and 10:30 Masses on Sundays. During Liturgy of the Word for Children, young people meet in the Chapel to hear the readings of the day at a level more suitable to their understanding, have small group discussion about the readings, and offer special intentions.
