St. Gerard Angel Tree Project

Angel Trees

The Angel Tree Project is a parish Advent program to share gifts with others with less material resources.

The program begins in November when the Angels appear on the trees in the gathering space. The Instruction Sheet explains the different colored angels. All gifts need to be returned by December 10th for the 2016 St. Gerard Angel Tree Project.

It is very important to return the Angel gifts by the date on the Angel as we are unable to deliver them after that date.

To Qualify for the program the family must meet one of the following requirements:

If you would like to volunteer contact Anne Tiller in the parish office  at or call 763-424-8770 at Ext. 120.

Meeting Details: The Angel Tree Ministry meets September through December on an "as needed" basis. Typically, once a month in the evening for about two hours. Some work is done outside of these meetings.
Ministry Description: The Angel Tree Ministry's mission is to provide gifts to those who may not receive a gift at Christmas. We provide gifts for local agencies, schools, St. Gerard parishioners, and CEAP. We rely on the generosity of our parish to purchase the gifts requested.

A typical day in this ministry:

This committee does a variety of things - we color the angel tags, cut them out, write on the tags, hang the tags on the Christmas trees and then sort the packages so they go to the correct families.

Is there more than one way to volunteer?

We always need volunteers to help carry the gifts from the church gathering space to St. Francis Hall. This is a one-time event in December.

The following apply to this ministry:

  • One Time
Time Committment: approximately 15 hours for the year
