A typical day in this ministry:

The Preparation Team : We prepare a chicken hot dish or cold chicken salad depending on the time of the year for about 200-250 people. We cook either noodles or rice, chop celery and peppers, open cans of soup and vegetables, and wash the dishes.

The Serving Team :The set up team of around five volunteers arrives at the school basement around 3:30 pm and makes sure all the food is ready to be set out at 5:30. Other volunteers come around 5:00 pm and may be asked to prepare napkins and utensils. At 5:20 pm the team gathers in the kitchen to share prayer. Tasks are assigned (may include dish and tray washing, bringing back dirty trays to be washed, serving on the food line or at the drink table). Food is brought out to the serving counter and liquids to the drink table. The site supervisor opens the doors at 5:30 for the clients to enter and the meal is served. At 6:30 all volunteers are responsible for helping with cleanup after the meal is served.
